Parent Teacher Organization

Asalamu’ Alaikum Pillars Prep Parents,

I would like to take this opportunity to welcome both new and returning families to Pillars Preparatory Academy for the 2016-207 school year. I hope that everyone had a great start to this school year.

I would like to congratulate and thank this past year’s PTO board for a very successful first year for the school /PTA and I hope this coming year brings us more success. This is my first year as a PTO president and I look forward to serving you in this capacity and hope to continue the many great events sponsored by the PTO.

Our PTO is made up of parents and teachers who want to improve the educational lives of our children. We believe that one of the most important Islamic values we can teach our children is community and charity work. One of the main goals is to incorporate civic consciousness within our fun activities. We are planning activities that benefit refugee families, fill up diaper banks and incorporate our children in the community outside the Islamic circle.

It is our hope that every family can participate as we can not accomplish all of our goals without the many amazing volunteers throughout the year to ultimately better serve our children.

The entire PTO looks forward to another exciting year with all of you. Please don’t hesitate to email us questions and/or voice your concerns.

Please keep an eye out for our Meet the PTO event where you will have the opportunity to meet our board, sign up as a volunteer for upcoming activities, and meet other parents.

Thank you,

 Samira Amer

When: The month of October

For more details, please read on the right!

Here's the scoop:

For the remainder of October, Pillars students will be participating in Penny Wars. This will be a fun way for students to band together and show teamwork and school spirit! All funds raised during this event will be used by the PTO to help provide other activities and events during the school year.

Here's how it works: Each penny counts for one point - put all of those into YOUR class jar provided. Bring in as many as you can and urge your classmates to as well! Every other coin deducts points - that means you don’t want them! Get rid of them! Put them in other class jars to make them lose points!

Please keep in mind: NO taking coins out of your jar or any other jar. No opening your jar or any other jar. And, most importantly, have fun!

The winning class will be rewarded with a hot cocoa party the first week of November. May the odds be forever in your favor! Final coins will be collected October 31.
